Drum Tuition

With over 20 years of playing drums in a whole host of different environments, from local bars and clubs to state of the art 5 star cruise ships I have vast experience and knowledge of playing the drums.

I teach a very wide variety of styles to all ages, on a one to one basis with well structured lessons adapted to suit the individual needs of the student, keeping a fun approach at all times. Students having never played drums before can expect to be playing simple drum patterns by the end of the first lesson. From there students can develop their skills and hone their own playing styles with various options including: stylistic vocabulary, click track playing, rudiments, music theory, reading, technique, posture, timekeeping and soloing as well as good unbiased advice.

Even beginners without a kit of their own are welcome, and lessons can give be a good idea to see if the student takes to the drums well and enjoys it, before going to the expense of buying a drum kit.

For those who want to take drum grades, I have years of experience with the Rockschool Syllabus, alternatively if you just want to learn to play like your favourite drummer, bring in your iPod or music player tracks and I’ll have you playing like your idols in no time!

I currently teach private lessons from my home studio in Kingsbury as well as a variety of local schools including: Tudor Grange Academy, The Coleshill School and The Queen Elizabeth Academy in Atherstone. I am fully DBS checked.

Drums can often be a difficult instrument to accommodate, so I’m always willing to give friendly unbiased advice regarding all aspects of drumming and drum equipment.

My Home Studio features two electric drum kits for tutor and student.
